			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for around 2 years or just under. I want to start cross training next year. I have been considering the possibility of cross training and i have been looking into it quite thoroughly, I read a couple of articles saying how you should have a strong base in your first art and once you do you will be able to train better with your second art as you can apply techniques, movements etc which will help you and hopefully make it easier for you to learn and progress. </p>
<p>On one hand i feel an art that would a company my BJJ would be the best option, such as Judo.</p>
<p>But on the other hand i am wondering if doing something completely new, such as a striking art, would make for a more well rounded martial artist.</p>
<p>However i know, having watched a number of karate classes,  that it would be hard to adapt from BJJ to Karate, Tae Kwon Do etc because of how its centered around forms or Kata where as BJJ is more.. Free? I don&#8217;t know i guess it depends on the school! Then again my BJJ instructor used to be a Karate instructor!</p>
<p>I hope you guys can put forth some good input that is based on experience and knowledge. Thanks a lot.</p>
<p>I have one last thing to say, just want to make this clear. I do not want to be a fighter. I want to be a martial artist.

It suggests <a href="http://myfitnessdepot.com/triswimcoach" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >swimming</a>, biking or <a href="http://myfitnessdepot.com/marathon-guy" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >running</a>, but I&#8217;m curious&#8230; Can golf be my cross training activity? I always walk when I play, so I figured just hitting some balls in between wouldn&#8217;t spoil the walk too much. What do you think? If that&#8217;s a no go, would you say playing golf on a rest day is a bad idea? Or is that too much? I would really like to work in one round a week&#8230;

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to figure out my training plan for cross country next season. I&#8217;m a frosh boy and my pr is 19:07. I want to get to 17:40&#8242;s for most of next season. I was thinking about 50 miles of <a href="http://myfitnessdepot.com/marathon-lauf" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >running</a> and about 100 miles of biking each weak. Will this be a good plan or will biking work the wrong muscles for <a href="http://myfitnessdepot.com/marathon-advice" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >running</a>. Either this or more running and less biking.<br />
Yeah i am not just gonna do easy slow runs to get the mileage up. in the 50 i am counting speed days and stuff. And where i live i can&#8217;t run a mile without hitting a hill. On my normal routes there are mile long hills with 10% grades. (where i do my speedwork)

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>i have Achilles tendinitis so i cant run more then 1 mile at race pace or 2 miles at a low speed without huge and intense pain in my Achilles tendon even when i tape my foot. i have a bike so i was wondering what would be a good cross training workout plan so that i will be in good shape when i get better. currently i bike 2.5-3 miles every day at around 4:40 minute mile pace, i bike without stopping to pedal standing up.<br />
im not really dumb i know what to do: i know i have to ice and strech every day. considering i am a top contributer to <a href="http://myfitnessdepot.com/marathon-de/contact.html" style="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >running</a> and have like 50 best answers in a row why would you think that i didnt know this. all i need is a plan for how much and how fast i should bike every day because im not that good at planning out scheduals and knowing how much BIKING i should do for a good workout.
