What are some good non-expensive running shoes? Flexible and Light…the best shoes I have for running right now are nikes and they suck as far as flexibility goes…and I notice when I run top speed I run on the Ball of my feet(the upper half, is that normal?) and my nikes wont let me do that…Thanks!

mizuno wave rider 11
these are very light and they are good for sprinting and longer running. I would recommend mizuno #1 then asics #2 for lightweight, durability, and cushioning
if you are looking for ultralight shoes, then try out the Adidas ATS shoe, it is extremely light and flexible. I have a pair of these and they are so lightweight AND comfortable, the only problem i foresee with these for you is that you will wear them out rather fast.
try saucony. my physical therapist suggested them for me
There are many, but it depends on your foot. Here is what you do. If you have a Road Runner sports store close by you can run, jog, and walk on a treadmill and they will tell you which shoes would be best for your feet, however, they are a little spendy so you get the type of shoe and size best for your feet and then go to a different store to buy them. I just bought a new pair of New Balance and they are great. I had a pair of Nike’s that I was happy with but these are 100 times better.
Take Julia’s advice Killer and get to Academy or Sports Authority for some Saucony Cohesions. About $40. Very similar to the Jazz and Shadow models, light, flexible, and cushiony.
Good LUck
There are so many different types of shoes and so many things to take into consideration. What is great for someone else, may not be for you. The most popular brands with runners are Mizuno, Brooks, Asics, and Saucony. I personally have had some good Nike’s, but some runners look down on them. If it is possible, go to a specialty running store and get an analysis to see if you pronate, supinate etc. If you go to the roadrunner website there is a tool you can use to get an idea of what type of shoe you need. Also, some of the previously mentioned brand’s have similar tools – you enter height, weight, and look at either the bottom of your running shoes or the insert to get an idea of how you land. The best thing is to get a professional assessment, but if you can’t, those sites would be the next best thing. Many hardcore runners will by 2-3 pairs of shoes once they find one that works for them. Sites like Zappo’s allow users to give ratings and info about the shoe, which can also be helpful to read and weed out any problems. Just remember, whatever shoe you get should feel comfortable out of the box. To save $$ I try on the shoe at the store to get a proper feel, then I do a websearch to get the best price.
Asics or New Balance.
