Can someone please give me some cross country training methods?

I’m training for cross country and I really want to improve my stamina and speed. I can run a mile at 7:36, and began my own training a couple of weeks ago, running 15+ miles a week. I feel like I need to improve more, so any suggestions? (diet, miles, etc)

I’m training by myself for the time being.

    Hello, I run cross country
My coach has us do different work outs everyday so we don’t get bored doing the same thing everyday, or overwork ourselves.

Here are some workouts we do:
    1. Just jog
    2.Farleks (jog a 10 min walk 5, jog 10 walk 5)
    3. Intervals (we do half mile intervals where we sprint and record our times each time)
    4. Suicides (the name fits trust me.) We run up and down this steep hill at the park where we practice

Try getting a running buddy! It really helps, you can push eachother.
Also, you could sign up for a gym membership and weight train especially on legs.
Always drink water, sports drinks don’t help.
STRECH!! we don’t wan shin splints (ouch!!) or other injuries

Hope I helped! good luck :)

I would definitely suggest running with a friend or someone. You push yourself a whole lot more, I’ve noticed. It’s nice to run with someone who’s about as good at it as you, but it’s even better to train with someone who’s better than you. If you’re somewhat competitive like I am, it’s like…"I have to keep up with whatshername." You know? I don’t really know any specific exercises or whatnot, but running continuously at least 3 times a week is definitely great :) Remember to progressively increase the length of your run, if you want to get better.
