Cross country season is just around the corner, less than a month away. I run a 5k, and I’m going to be on varsity as a freshman. My goal time would be about 22mins. I need training advice as in workouts, runs, and ways to help me train for my season?
Your help is appreciated

How could you already make varsity…don’t they decide on the runners once the season starts 0.-?
As far as time, you want to get in shape before you start doing workouts. I’d do distance runs for a couple of weeks, and then start doing one long run and one workout per week.
smoke as many cigarettes as possilbe and walk around with a snorkle duct taped to your mouth. It helps your breathing
If you’re not even trained yet, how do you expect to be on Varsity as a freshman?
Every person has different ways to train and work out. Just set your goals, do as your coach tells you, stick with the pack the as much as possible and always keep your head up literally and figuratively. Never get discouraged by your performance in a race, training will only improve your times and by keeping your head up and focusing on where you are headed and not where your feet are at the moment will make running so much easier for you.
The most important thing with running is keeping your form and controlling your breathing. Straight body, move arms back and forth never across your body, relax your muscles (position your hands as if you are holding a potato chip between your index finger and thumb), keep your head focused on where you are headed and not what is around you, and keep your knees up and extend your stride to get the most out of each step while still feeling comfortable.
Good Luck
