I dont think they really deserve to run I think mostly every runner does run but then again I hate my team im the only one who trains with 30-40 miles a week and im barely a freshman going to be a sophmore

I didnt train much this summer but i do run xc. I think if you feel like you should train then do it, and thats great.. but if you dont train all the time then thats your issue. Pluuuus, dont you wanna be better than all them..? Every runner deserves to run if they want.
Too much mileage isn’t good
Lesser mileage works better for some. If they dont go to a lot of practices what is the reason (Really Sick? Cant make one a week because of work or ride issues)
But if they all sit down on a long while you run, I dont think they deserve to run
Off-season training is optional. Many people don’t use XC as their primary sport, instead they use it as offseason training for other sports.
Also, keep in mind, at some programs 30-40 mile weeks are what the slackers do.
If they train during the season, they deserve to be part of the team.
There’s varsity and jr. varsity and then there is open. People who don’t practice belong in open. People like you and me belong in varsity.
I run xc and my frosh/soph i didnt train at all during off seasons becuase I was lazy- but i was on varsity and always a scorer so it depends on the person- dont assume just becuase they dont train they arent going to help the team they might be naturally good
