Hip Pain while Running. What are my alternatives at this point?

I think that from running so much (I’m a marathon runner), I’ve injured both my hip joints. To keep my fitness levels up, what alternative sports do I have?

I was thinking stationary cycling. What are your thoughts?
What about swimming or rowing? Will that work?

What’s the best to help me over this stupid mess?

Luckily I don’t have any races coming up, but I want to not stop my training.

Lastly, I do crossfit. Maybe wait on that too?

Biking is the activity that most approximates running. Everything I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot) has 3-4 biking miles equivalent to 1 running mile. You should pedal with minimal resistance (spinning) and at 90 revolutions per minute.
    Good luck!

Swimming and Biking are the obvious sports. Both require very little pressure on the hips. Both cycling and rowing will be fine. I would just wait until it feels better. ICE a lot. You should do those sports until you can get back to running. But then make sure you still do those sports as much as running…so that problem doens’t happen again.
