Im gonna start mma around july because we are moving to fort walton beach this summer. And i was wandering how I should get in shape for it. Im doing crossfit now and lifting weights, I have some boxing gloves and wraps. What other stuff should I be doing to get ready? Im kind of a big kid, Im 6’2" and 198 pounds and Ive got fat to lose. So also what diet is good for mma? Paleo?

    Hi

MMA Training is different from other types of training because it has to be high intensity. This means that you need to train like you would fight, with as little rest as possible.

MMA Training also involves various types of training which impact strength, endurance, speed, agility, and power. So that means you need to find a program that shows you the best way to approach your training.

A good diet will be high in protein to help your body to recover from your training, and healthy carbs to provide energy for your training. I wouldn’t worry too much about dieting to lose fat, because if you train the right way, the fat will disappear pretty quickly.

My husband trains in MMA and he says that the training has to be really tough to cope with what you experience in a fight.

Have a look at the resource below for some good MMA training workouts
