I need a new pair of good running shoes for gym and am choosing between Nike and New Balance. I have run only indoors on treadmill, aerobics, strength training and crossfit types of exercise. Whats a better name?
What you do suggest?

You need to buy running shoes based first and foremost on fit and function — almost as if blind to things like brand and price when you’re making your early-round decisions.
Every brand has some great models and some real clunkers out at any given time, and things that work great or horrible for others can easily be a very different experience for you.
Get fitted in a running specialty store. If you buy based on brand first, you’re almost certain to end up with a shoe that’s not your ideal. And unless you’re "running" in a fashion show, you should be caring a lot more about function over things like brand name.
nike by far has a bigger name, and they make great shoes. however, new balance shoes are also great. i would recommend nike shoes just because iv had a lot of pairs and i really like them. i have the nike vomero 4s and i love them. they have great cushion but terrible response (sprinting). try them on and i think you’ll like them
The best shoe for you is the one that fits your feet. The best way to find what fits your feet is to travel to your local running shoe store and have them fit you. They will be able to look at your gait and how your foot moves. To find your local shoe store use our shoe store finder (http://www.runnersworld.com/store/search…

I hope this helps!
Like everyone has said.. its all about person preference… however, being a runner and reading up a lott about the topic I have some advice. DON’T go for shoes that will "help correct your pronation" or whatever other issue the running shoe experts say you have. Its been proven that running in barefeet is actually the best for you.. so with that being said I would go with the lightest and most neutral shoe you can find. I used to run In Brooks to "help correct my pronation problem" and ended up with horrible knee issues which caused me a lot of pain, doctor visits, and time off. A few months ago I switched to a pair of very neutral and light Asics and have been feeling great! again.. its up to you.. but I say they less you have on your feet the better.
