I’m going to say treadmill because your whole body gets into the action not just your legs like on a stationary bike.
A thorough medical check up is essential before you join the gym. If no serious problems, treadmill excercises will help. But time increase should be gradual. This is applicable for cycling also
neither. an elliptical is soooo much better than both. you will feel more pain in less time.
Hi Andos,
You need to consider various important aspects before you can commit to purchasing any cardio or weight training equipment, specially if your knowledge in fitness and exercise is limited.
No disrespect to you.
I would advise you to speak to a fitness or gym instructor at your local gym or health club and discuss this matter openly to him/her. Put forward any questions or doubts you might have in regards to cardio equipment and ask if they could maybe draw up an exercise program for you and your mom to follow without causing any risks of injury.
Due to their experience in the field they should be able to advise you on the questions you’re presenting here.
Let me know how it goes once you speak to them.
ps. In regards to your question. Both machines improve your cardio and general fitness at different levels and intensities…but if used improperly both can become an injury magnet.
As mentioned in one of the answers. There’s also a machine called X-Trainer or Elliptical that is a better choice to have in your home.
Hope this information can help you
