Whichever one isn't going to upset your stomach.

Nothing ruins an attempt at a personal best like GI distress.

This is all down to personal preference, what works for one person may not work for another. I would suggest that when you do the long workouts try each one individually and see which works best for you. You should also be taking in Carbs (GU), on the long workouts and have an extra bottle of water. Gatorade does not mix well with GU so would you never eat GU and then drink Gatorade at the same time, hence the extra bottle of water. Good luck!

Personally, I like Gatorade. Some people can't handle the sugar though.
If you are doing a sprint, you mainly need liquid. You should have carbohydrates and electrlytes already stored in your body for an hour, but you still need to drink.
If the event is going to be up to 2 hours you will need nutritian too. Gatorade has carbs, and electrolytes. If you are doing a 70.3 or IM, you need some solid food, and some gels. On a normal day I like to drink 24 Oz per hour, and 300 calories per hour. You should experiment in training. Don't try something new on race day!
