What did you eat before your big workouts? That’s what you should eat. There is no "magic bullet". What has worked for you in your training should work for you on race morning. The same goes for dinner the night before. Don’t try anything new right before a race. If you got nuts with the carbo-loading, it can lead to "carbo-unloading" on race morning, if you know what I mean.

I can’t stand to eat lots of fat (i.e. cheese) the night before a race. I feel like my stomach won’t digest it, and I wake up feeling heavy. However, I have a friend who ALWAYS eats pizza the night before her big races. Go figure.

The morning of a sprint or olympic triathlon, I usually eat either a PBJ or some sort of breakfast bar. I pack a banana and an extra bottle of Gatorade in my transition bag. After I get set up, I eat the banana and sip on the Gatorade until the race start. That’s my system. You just need to do what works for you. Remember the golden rule- NOTHING NEW ON RACE DAY.

    Good luck and have fun!!!

Well I crew and before a regatta I eat a pb & j sandwich with a glass of milk and a cliff bar. I also bring cliff bars for in between races.

Hey you’re best eating loads of carbs the couple of days running up, but not absolutely loads on the morning of the race, cause if you’re anything like me you’ll get a stitch…I agree with the guy who last answered below me, peanut butter is awesome for energy!! Loads on toast!! Don’t be tempted to eat high sugar stuff like choc though cause you’ll get a blood sugar dip xx
