Listen, if you are doing your first ever triathlon, why do you need to spend money on something expensive?
Since it’s your first race, you could just save money for now and race in whatever you have so far. What if you don’t like it at the end and decide that it’s not for you?
You could just get something like tri shorts and tri jersey.

Speedo offers Fastskin II’s that also double as bike shorts/spandex for running, plus it’s compression for muscle maintenance and treatment, so it’s worth buying!
They are a little expensive, and you do need to get the correct fit to a tee, but they are fantastic.
