Recently Homeopathic HCG has become a hot new way to lose weight. Part of the reason for its popularity is that many people are seeking to do Dr. Simeon’s HCG Protocol for weight loss but are reluctant to inject themselves on a daily basis with the HCG hormone. In addition, the HCG hormone is expensive, hard to locate and requires a doctor’s prescription (or ordering it from an overseas pharmacy which takes 6 weeks to deliver if it is not confiscated by customs officials).
Some physicians like myself, have discovered that people are getting comparable results using the HCG hormone injections. and the Homeopathic version of HCG. The difference between the two treatments is that the HCG hormone is made into a homeopathic remedy (diluted hundreds of times and potentized) so that it is an energetic imprint of the original substance that works in the body on an energetic level.
I know of at least once vocal critic of using Homeopathic HCG for weight loss. She warns her newsletter list frequently that homeopathic remedies only work by reversing symptoms and therefore is not applicable for weight loss. Indeed, classical homeopathy invented by Dr. Hahnemann in the 1800’s works like this: if you have a rash and itchy skin and you can try homeopathic Rhus Tox (poison ivy) and it can help your symptoms disappear. Homeopathy works by giving rememdies that would normally cause symptoms in a well person can cancel out those symptoms in someone with those symptoms. Strange but true.
So how would homeopathic HCG fit into this method? It doesn’t. However, Homeopathy works in many ways besides reversing symptoms. For example, there is a type of homeopathy called Oligotherapy which provides very small doses of vitamins, minerals, supplements and hormones that can be very powerful in nudging the body in the direction of health.
Homeopathy has several other categories of remedies each of which has a different method of action such as Miasms, Sarcodes, Liquitrophics, Hormetics Restoratives, Allersodes, and Isodes.
This critic also states that homeopathic HCG does not provide enough HCG to actually work and the only weight loss that occurs is due to the 500 calorie diet which will actually cause harm to the hypothalamus for being on a very low calorie diet.
This is not true. The studies that compare those who go on a 500 calorie diet with and without the HCG hormone show that those who take the HCG experience little to no hunger, have a resculpting effect on the body, show more inches lost, show a large decrease in emotional eating and binge eating. This proves that the HCG hormone has a significant effect on the body. Furthermore, those who use homeopathic HCG also experience these same advantages.
Sometimes I visit HCG Forums and see people posting messages that Homeopathic HCG does not work. I ask them if they have used it or tried it on patients and the answer is always “No.” I have not found a single critic who has had any experience with the Homeopathic version and I would love for any critics to show me their data if they have any that supports their views.
I fear that this protocol, as miraculous as it is, can be a bit cult-like and the people who use it can be quite dogmatic about following it exactly as Simeon’s wrote in his HCG Bible. To me, this is dangerous, if we do not want to stay in the dark ages we always needs to be open to experimentation and continual improvement. In my medial opinion, there is much room for improvement on Simeon’s protocol. In my book on Homeopathic HCG, I have added suggestions to his protocol to reflect what we know about biochemistry, physiology, physics and nutrition and most importantly, natural medicine in the 21st century and I hope to see his work continually improving as science advances.
Does Homeopathic Hormone treatment work? Yes it works and it works well. I observed a physician in Scottsdale, Arizona for three months and his specialty was using homeopathic hormone treatment for all sorts of hormone conditions. He had a waiting list of 6 months due to the efficacy of his therapies with no side-effects.
We are continually collecting data from those who have done both the full strength HCG and the homeopathic version and they are reporting to me that they are getting the same results from both versions. All the health care practitioners that I have spoken with who are using homeopathic HCG are also getting the same positive results.

If you are overweight, you are not alone. In 2007, 2 out of 3 Americans are overweight or obese. As a society, we are becoming increasingly mindful that decreased activity coupled with increased caloric intake and poor nutrition slowly but inevitably overwhelm our bodies’ ability to maintain a healthy weight.
Being overweight or obese puts you at serious risk for developing many obesity related diseases. That’s the bad news. The good news is that reducing your weight dramatically reduces these same risks. For those patients who suffer from these conditions, weight loss can significantly improve or completely correct these conditions.
Insulin Resistance and Diabetes Mellitus
Obesity leads to insulin resistance, a diminished biological response to the hormone insulin. This resistance is characterized by an elevation of circulating insulin, a diminished ability to store glucose, and a propensity to store fat.
In patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, serum glucose levels improve within days after starting a weight loss program. One study showed that the average fasting blood glucose levels in persons with type 2 diabetes decreased from 290 mg/dL to 110 mg/dL in 3 days in response to a very low calorie diet. Medication (oral agents or insulin) can be greatly reduced or eliminated in such cases. Another study reported that, after a 23-kg weight loss (22% of initial body weight), all patients taking oral agents and 82% of patients taking insulin were able to discontinue medication. Similar results were reported with weight losses of 9.3 kg. In general, patients with a 15% reduction in total body weight may consider stopping oral agents. Smaller decreases in total body weight may even cure “pre-diabetes”, a significant cardiovascular risk.
Hypertension
Hypertension improves with weight loss in overweight persons. In patients following Very Low Calorie Diets (VLCD’s), one study reported a significant decrease in systolic blood pressure in 81% of patients and in diastolic pressure in 62% of patients (6). Patients receiving a diet of 800 to 1200 kcal who averaged a weight loss of 10.5 kg showed decreases in both systolic and diastolic pressures of about 20 mm Hg. In about three quarters of these patients, blood pressure returned to normal. Adding an exercise regimen to weight loss led to even greater improvements in blood pressure.
Dyslipidemia
Obesity is often associated with an elevation of serum triglycerides and total cholesterol. The ratio of LDL to HDL cholesterol is usually elevated, resulting in an even greater risk of heart attacks and strokes. All of these values generally improve with weight loss. What I am trying to get across here is the fact that the steady flow or supply of food has not been the norm in human history. It is a fact that our bodies have evolved on famine or feast. We ate to our hearts content after a good hunt but then heard our stomachs growl during a famine or after an unsuccessful hunt.
The zig zag my diet phenomenon exploits this fact. That is cycling high and low calories in order to burn fat and preserve muscle. By cycling calories in a high and low fashion we prime the body to burn fat and feed muscle.
Everyone who has experienced calorie restricted diet knows that weight loss is dramatic at first. You feel energetic as the pounds drop off, but after a while you notice that the pounds start to drop off more slowly as the metabolism slows down. Some muscle mass is lost during this time and fat loss slows down after fourteen days on this calorie restricted diet.
On the other hand anyone who has been on a serious binge has seen the other side of the coin. You feel great and maintain or even put on some muscle mass for about two weeks. The period of calorie restriction has sparked your anabolic guns to put out some serious hormones.
When I eat a lot I gave my body what I need to make the hormones and maintain muscle. The effects are short lived and then I started to put on fat.
By alternating low and high calorie days I can take advantage of these hormone cycles. I recommend staying on a low calorie diet for no more than three days.
Lets say my maintenance level is 2800 calories a day. Then my mum puts on a feast and want to have 6000 calories on turkey day. 2200 calories three days before and three days after will keep me in the safe zone. This method lets me stay lean while Tom, Dick and Harry just get fatter and fatter.
The zig zag my diet method lets me turn holiday feasting into a vital part of my strategy. The zig zag my diet method can work for bulking up muscle as well. This is achieved by a couple of low calorie days after three high calorie days keep fat gain to a minimum.
