Running in Japan: My first marathon in Japan

I trained for months and ran my first full marathon in Osaka, Japan. The Osaka Yodogawa Citizens Marathon started in Hirakata City and went all the way down the Yodo River to Umeda and back again. I ran it in 4 hours 44 mins. It was an awesome experience. I’m doing a few 10k’s in between and next Spring another full marathon. My goal will be 4 hours-4 hours 10 minutes. In other words….I have a lot of training to do! Luckily, Kobe, Japan….where I live….is a sweet place to run. Special thanks to kansaipj for coming out and filming my run. Kenya’s Catherine Ndereba powered to her second world championship marathon gold medal with a perfectly executed run on Sunday. Ndereba, who also won gold in 2003 and took silver in 2005, hit the front at the 36-kilometer mark and surged clear over the last two kilometers to clock two hours, 30 minutes, 37 seconds in Osaka.
