I’ve recently picked up running a few days a week. About a mile to start off with. I’m 5"1 and 146 lbs. I’ve been eating healthier too. I’m wondering how long till I may start seeing results, and what kind of results to expect. I’ve already done my research about mixing up excerises and diets. I just want to hear other peoples experience and stories, how much weight did you lose? what were your results?

I recently bought "daniel’s running formula" on amazon. Soon after I discovered that there was a second edition of the book. I know that the second edition has running strategies for the 800. But what else is different?

How should I prepare for mma?

Im gonna start mma around july because we are moving to fort walton beach this summer. And i was wandering how I should get in shape for it. Im doing crossfit now and lifting weights, I have some boxing gloves and wraps. What other stuff should I be doing to get ready? Im kind of a big kid, Im 6’2" and 198 pounds and Ive got fat to lose. So also what diet is good for mma? Paleo?

I’ll be doing my second "super sprint" tri in mid-September. The swim portion of my first SUCKED. It’s only a 400 yard swim, and need some help in developing a 6 week swim training plan. Advice?

We all heard of the saying, "You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink it." I believe there is a way to motivate the horse to drink. How do I start a realistic fitness program with the limited equipment at my apartment building’s gym?

All my gym has is:
One leg press machine
One bench press machine that can be adjusted to do a shoulder press.
One Lat pulldown machine that also has a bottom pulley for lat rows.
One stationary bike
One elliptical thing
One treadmill
That’s it. No freeweights.

How do I get started with a good strength training/fitness program that doesn’t suck, using just these resources, that I can stick with? What should the program consist of? How many times a week? How many reps? How do I adjust the program as I get fitter?
If it matters, I’m male, 30, 6’1", and 185 pounds of flab. I can do about 10 pushups and 1 pullup. resting pulse 76 bpm.

I’m doing a short course (10.6 mile) biking in my first triathlon in Sept. What kind of bike should I look at getting? How do you even go about getting "fitted" for a bike? I am not wanting to go all out – just want to get a decent bike that I can also use to ride with my kids – so that it has some flexibility.

I’ve started preparing myself for running.
Usually, I just wear my converses when I go running, but now that I am getting serious I want to invest in some actual "Running" shoes.
What is the best type or brand? Are there specific things I need to know about choosing what running shoe to purchase?

I can probably safely assume the majority of people who use the internet enough to answer yahoo questions have seen a trailer for frank miller’s "300". I know Mark Twight is the guy who trained them, i have seen the spartan training video, but does anyone have a link to a workout plan similar to theres or any crossfit workout?
