What are some good running shoes for cross country running?

Does anyone know of any specific running shoes that won’t cause shin splints or stress fractures due to running on different terrain? I am a cross country runner and i get shin splints easy when i run on different surfaces. Thanks you for your help (:

What are some good running shoes that will support my arches?

After I workout I get a horrible aching pain in the arches of my feet.
I want to start running properly so I need some different shoes to the ones im using now. Can anyone recommend a good pair of running shoes that will support my arches?

I am looking for specific trainers so links would be much appreciated.

Why did my feet start hurting today when running?

I have a new pare of running shoes, but I have worn them for about a week or two of running. I have not had any problems with them. But today when I went for a 3 1/2 mile run shortly after starting my feet started to bother me on the sides of my feet.
