I’ve never really experienced running in the snow, but I am assured that there will be lots of that to go around during the cross country season. What kind of training shoes/ spikes should I wear in the snow?

My 13 year old daughter started running track this season and complained about ankle pains. I read somewhere that it’s important to have good running shoes. And make sure they are laced up snug.
My daughter is one to slip on and off her running shoes while they’re laced up. Should I be concerned that she does that and should I reinforce the importance of lacing and unlacing when putting on and taking off her shoes? She’s got both running shoes and spikes.
