Can I do weight cross training followed by long distance running on the same day?

I have a cross training program that involves some weight. But mostly push-ups, pull-ups, and curls (bicep, tricep) and shoulder presses.
Can I perform these cross-training weight workout (about an hour long) then do a distance run (starting at 1 mile, then increasing by .5 miles a week until I’m doing 4-5 miles).
If you care, the cross training weight workouts are the P90X workouts (I love them).
My main reason to do this is to prepare for Cross Country while KEEPING (NOT BUILDING) my muscles.

I want to wear a weight vest while running and jump roping and when I’m riding my bike. What are some tips of wearing the weight vest right and not over doing it. I will also be wearing while playing basketball and pull-ups. Could I wear it while lifting dumbbells? I am planning to wear it while I run a 2-5 miles every night and doing 1000 jump ropes and maybe while lifting dumbbells? Should I take protein?
And yes I will run 2-5 miles and do 1000 jump ropes every night.
What is the difference between running pants and soccer pants?

I have a PT Physical Fitness test tomorrow morning for a job, it includes the following: 1.5 Mile run, Maximum Push-ups, Timed 1-minute situps, the sit and reach, the vertical jump. Does anyone have any advice for what to do the night before? Please advise.

Back in Girl Scouts we would go on a hike at a park that would have a fitness trail. Along the fitness trail there would be stations set up where you do jumping jacks, pull-ups, walking a beam, etc. I have seen them by office buildings and apartment complexes too. What I want to do is find out what they are officially called so I can do a search online. Thanks! (PS: I am from the Schaumburg, IL area if that helps.)
