Several questions regarding Crossfit?

I am training for high school football and have heard plenty of good things about crossfit. My first question is: are there any downsides? I have heard countless accolades, but there must be something you sacrifice. Second, would it help me with football? I know of the site crossfitfootball.com, but the workouts seem to be too short (same thing with crossfit.com). That is probably my lack of experience and knowledge more than anything, but it doesnt seem like a 20 minute workout is enough. I have heard that you supplement it with a sport, but that is not possible for me, as there is no football all year round, and I doubt it would be feasible if there was.
What exercises help your running endurance?

I’m a beginner at cross country so i cover at least a couple of miles a day, but i’m having trouble building my endurance, and I feel extremely uncomfortable when I run. What is the correct form for running? Also, are there any type of workouts or diet plans that i could do alongside my running to help strengthen the appropriate muscles?

i have been doing a good amount of running and cross training over the past month and when i first started i felt great and energized after my workouts and runs but for the past week or so i have felt tired and out of energy before, during and especially after my workouts, is there a reason why? is there anything i can do to go back to normal?

i’m a 14 year old girl, i m in the middle of intense triathlon training (about 4 hours a day) I’m going away on scout camp for 2 weeks, how can I train as the triathlon is the week after and it is a really important one? is there any workouts I can do?

I have really bad shin splints and the doctor said that I shouldn’t run for 3 weeks. However, cross country running training starts in a week. I have to swim, bike, or use the elliptical. Do you have any good workouts or workout plans that I could use to stay in shape?

so i surf. and its spring. im doing lacrosse and some crossfit workouts when there isn’t practice. but i was having trouble paddling into waves last year. any tips on building upper body strength. specifically the muscles used when paddling into a wave.
What are good running shoes? And are they worth getting for only a few weeks?

I have to take summer PE. I needed new shoes, and my dad agreed to get me some. The only problem is, I don’t want my parents to spend lots of money on something I only plan to use for a few weeks. I do work out about 2-4 times a week, but I was planning on wearing my worn out shoes. Should I just spend the money and use the running shoes for my workouts or is it just a waste of money to buy something I will only use for a few weeks?
