Australian superstar Emma Snowsill added to her extensive medal count today with a win at the Ishigaki BG Triathlon World Cup. Snowsill led from start to finish claiming her eighth world cup title in a time of 2 hours 3 minutes and 11 seconds.

Interview with Jeremy Wariner, World 400m Running Champion (Part 2)

World 400m Champion Jeremy Wariner says he had a disappointing season in 2008 but that it will only make him stronger. Wariner finished in the silver medal position at the Olympics in Beijing behind fellow American lashawn Merritt, but Wariner is in a small group of athletes who believe nothing less than gold is acceptable. With gold medals from the World Championships in Helsinki and Osaka, Japan and one from the Olympics in Athens, Wariner you might think has little left to prove on the track but he believes otherwise. The Texan who has just reunited with his old coach Clyde Hart wants to regain the form he held in 2007 with the view to successfully defending his World Championship title for an incredible third time this August in Berlin.

Disney’s Princess Half Marathon

Thousands of women from around the world took part in a three-day celebration of womens health and fitness at the inaugural Disneys Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Lady Foot Locker. The weekend kicked off with the Fit For a Princess Expo at Disney’s Wide World of Sports where fitness experts lead seminars on everything from training to racing to nutrition to the latest in cutting edge equipment. The weekend’s signature event, Disneys Princess Half Marathon, took runners on a 13.1 mile royal journey through Magic Kingdom and Epcot. In all more than 11000 runners from every US state and 17 other countries competed in various races throughout weekend, which included the Royal Family 5K and the Princess Kids Races, making this event one of the largest endurance race weekends geared towards women.

In what seemed like an instant replay from one year ago, hometown favourite Daniel Unger of Germany has won the 2008 Hamburg BG Triathlon World Cup in a time of one hour 46 minutes and 51 seconds.

The fleet-footed Don ran away from the competition over the final stages of the race to claim the fifth world cup win of his career. In second position, only six seconds behind, Athens Olympic silver medalist Bevan Docherty of New Zealand out-sprinted Germany’s Jan Frodeno in a photo finish result.

pain’s Javier Gomez opened his 2008 world cup season with a satisfying victory in Mooloolaba, finishing well ahead of last year’s winner Brad Kahlefeldt. The 2006 world champion Tim Don made it back to the world cup podium, edging out Kiwi Bevan Docherty for the bronze.
