I usually avoid fruit juices before a race/run because they contain lots of acids that can upset the stomach. Afterwards chocolate milk is good because it has protein good for muscles

Another great way of getting potassium is to (this may sound awkward but it works..) eat a packet of mustard 10 min. prior to a run. Been doing that on every run haven’t had a side cramp since!
