Bill Rodgers: what a sweetie!
That’s my dad lol
lethalblonde…bill rodgers is your dad?!?!
Bill Rodgers is one of my sporting heroes from my boyhood. I finally met him at a race expo in Chicago a few years ago. A nice man.
I am running the Charlottesville marathon (my 3rd) on Saturday and I am listening to Mr Rodgers for a tad of inspiration. What a legend he is!
Yeah
i agree Bill Rodgers is a fine man on and off the road races. I met him twice in the NYC marathon in 98 and 99 and he remembered the day i met him earlier back in my country (philippines) when he visited in 1982 to grace our inaugural manila marathon. I approached him in the hotel lobby where he was billeted and asked for his autograph. I have been running since 1980 and up to now I am fit for a marathon.
As I recall he ended up with the nickanme of Boston Billy. One of the greats, no doubt
my name is a homage to the Bill. My name is Bill Rodgers and I was born in the Brazil. It is an honor to have this name.

This is a very educating talk by Bill, the man speaks the truth. Wonder if he smokes some little ganja?
Hubby met him years back during the Cleveland Marathon and he went to shook his hand. Hubby said “I’ll never forget what he said to me that day”. I asked what it was, he said: “Hot day today!”

No!
He and his brother own and operate the “Bill Rodgers Running Center” in Boston, Massachusetts.
