Air Force Cadet Third Class Malcolm Strong ran the Walt Disney Marathon for more than just himself, it was a “Run for the Fallen.” The Central Florida native wants to raise awareness for all the men and women killed in the United States global war on terrorism. Strong ran the 26.2 miles in full military fatigues, carried a 30 pound backpack, and handed out American flags along the route. More importantly to the Air Force Cadet, he carried letters from family members whose loved ones were killed in the service of our country. He will wear the 2010 Disney World Marathon medal he earned with pride. The Endurance Series at Walt Disney World Resort gives recreational athletes of all ages and abilities the chance to walk, jog, run, bike and swim their way around the world. From marathons to road races to triathlons, athletes from across the country and around the world compete to stay in shape, achieve personal best times and raise donations for charitable causes. Popular Endurance Series events are the Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon (Jan. 6-9, 2011), Champion 5k at ESPN the Weekend (Feb. 27, 2010), Disneys Princess Half Marathon Weekend (March 5-7, 2010), Expedition Everest Challenge (June 12, 2010) and the inaugural Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 1-2, 2010). Oh my gosh! Brought me to tears. So true what he said about people more worried about the money the war is costing rather than the lives. Thanks for inspiring me!

    Thank you all for the props, however, I could not have done it without all the support from all the spectators and other racers. This will not be the only race I do this in so please keep a look out for other stories in other races, and of course in the 2011 Disney Marathon.

    But fame is theirs – and future days
    On pillar’d brass shall tell their praise;
    Shall tell – when cold neglect is dead -
    “These for their country fought and bled.”

    God Bless America, the military, and especially Cadet Strong!

    I ran that race and spoke to this guy – I was running for a UK armed forces charity – God bless you !

    Will. UK.

  11. lindoemodesto3 says:

    this guy is show-off , just a wannabee. He should do well without it first. Why do you guys show only the loser and there´s no video showing the winners?

  12. academyguy12 says:

    In this great nation we are so privileged to live in every person is entitled to his or her own opinion. I did not run this race for myself, I did not run this race to receive accolades from others, this race was run to honor the fallen servicemen and women of our GREAT nation. Winning is a mindset, if you go out with a certain goal set forth and you achieve that goal you are a winner. Finishing 1st does not always dictate a winner. I ask you this, how is honoring the fallen being a show off?

  13. LyricQueen1 says:

    lol lindoemodesto3 this guys a showoff

  14. sbergie37 says:

    Thank you Cadet Strong! I am proud to be an American and I grateful for all my American soldiers.

    Anyone that thinks he is a showoff has obviously never ran or trained for a marathon. You should be ashamed of yourself for even saying that.

  15. vigo894 says:

    @lindoemodesto3= If anyone is the real loser, it is you and the jackass who agrees with you. You think you could do better. Try, I dare you to run a marathon. And if you’re not going to do it, then, shut up and sit in your mother’s basement fantasizing about women you’ll never have. people who do don’t contribute in helping the world be a better place have no right to complain. Git r done madame.
