Vasa Trainers are so old school. I remember doing the vasa trainer as a kid in the 80′s.

Vasa Trainer swim bench, and the  new Vasa Ergometer swim bench, are anything but old school for dryland training.  Just ask top coaches like Matt Kredich, who uses Vasa Trainers all the time and even used the Vasa Trainer in his great new swim coaching DVD's.  These machines top every swim bench on the market for swim specfic training, teaching technique, and also are great for those injured swimmers or those with ear infections who can do nearly an entire practice on the Vasa Ergometer swim bench because is simulates the feeling of water.
At our club, we use the new Vasa Ergometers mostly because they measure power, and our old Vasa Trainers don't.  We still use the Trainers for dryland circuits and some rehab work, but the new Vasa Ergometer swim benches are awesome.  We even got one of the kayak paddling kits so we can use the Ergometer for cross training.  If you have not tried either of these Vasa machines, you should.  It is no wonder all the top swim programs and club excellence programs use them.  if you have any creativity as a coach or athlete, you can use these tools to improve performance a lot.
